Pupils gaze into the Explorerdome
SCORES of primary school pupils in Bristol had stars in their eyes when they visited an interactive science show. The popular Explorerdome – an inflatable planetarium – was at Mangotsfield secondary school yesterday. About 120 Year 5 and 6 pupils from Barley Close, Mangotsfield, The Tynings and Emerson's Green primary schools were invited along. The youngsters saw a show that featured the earth, moon, sun and solar system. They also looked at the gods, heroes, myths and legends of Ancient Greece. Pete Adamson, head of science, said: "This is a fantastic teaching and learning experience for our pupils and the pupils of the four invited primary schools. "We are always looking for new innovative ways to educate and this event will do just that. "Perhaps this will encourage some pupils to consider a career in science."
