Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the new academic year at Mangotsfield School.  It has been a pleasure to once again welcome students and their parent/carers into Year 7.  We also welcome our new sixth form students.  I am pleased to report that all students have made a great return to school and the new students are already settling in well.

Summer 2011

Congratulations to Year 11 and Year 13 students in achieving the best exam results of any year through Mangotsfield.

  • 80% of students achieved five A*-C GCSEs (up from 68% last year)
  • 55% achieved five A*-C GCSEs including Maths and English. (up from 52% last year)
  • A' Level Average points score was 239 (up from 237 last year)
  • A2 Average points score was 643 (up from 558 last year)
  • Pass rate A* to B was 21% (up from 19% last year)

 

Detailed examination results will be posted as soon as possible.

Summer 2010

 

  • 68% achieved 5A*to C and 52% achieved 5 A*to C including English and Maths
  • 52% of students achieved 5 A*-C including English and Maths at GCSE
  • 37% of students achieved at least one A*/A grade at GCSE
  • 82% of students passed OCR National in ICT with a grade C or above
  • 65% of students achieved a grade C or above in GCSE English and 60% in GCSE Maths
  • AS grades were 76% A-E with 19% at a grade A or B, many students achieved at least 3 A or B grades at AS
  • At A2 85% of grades were at A -E with 26% at grade A*-B a rise of 4% on 2009.
  • Many students achieved high grades and have gained access to higher education and the university of their choice and several are on apprenticeship courses.
  • At Key Stage 3 we continue to be in line with national results.
