Departments
Music
The Music Department is well equipped with two main teaching rooms, an Apple Mac computer suite and four practice rooms. We offer music instrumental lessons in school and tuition is available for Woodwind, Brass, Strings, Percussion, Guitar, Piano, Keyboard and Voice. Orchestral and Band instruments are available for hire.
Music exams
Each year several of our students take Associated Board or Guildhall/Trinity music exams. We run several groups during lunchtime and after school, including School Band, Choir and Choral groups, and Wind ensembles. There is a Music Tech club that meets each week in the Apple Mac suite.
Musical events
Our main musical events in the school year are the Christmas and Summer concerts, which involve both students and staff. In February 2010 the school put on a very successful production of “Oliver”. This year the Department has been given funding from the Rosemary Bugden Charitable Trust towards a samba kit for use in class.
