A Level Results 2017
Downend and Mangotsfield schools formally merged their Sixth Form provision in September 2015. The rationale was simple: to create a wider curriculum offer across two schools via a high quality, shared experience. Students move between the sites, and teachers and leaders collaborate closely. There has been an increased focus on academic outcomes and a really positive ethos, where learning comes first. The facilities in both schools have been updated to create a really dynamic and purposeful learning environment.

Mangotsfield School- A Level Results
“We are really pleased with the positive attitude of our students this year in the run up to the exams, despite the challenges faced in light of new specifications and exams. They have been really motivated and worked so hard to achieve the grades needed to go on to the various universities and apprenticeships they have lined up for September. Staff and our supportive parents have played no small part in this too”, said David Spence, Headteacher.
Mangotsfield School is really proud of supporting all of its students’ progression to a wide range of destinations, including some much sought-after apprenticeships.

Sarah Porter, Head of Sixth Form: “Through really strong careers guidance we have supported our students onto the next stage of their education as confident and prepared young adults; from successful apprenticeships secured at the MOD and Barclays bank through to students studying Maths at Southampton, Law at University of Bristol and Robotics locally at UWE, for example. All bar two of our students have been able to take up their first-choice of destination, which is wonderful!”
