At Mangotsfield School everyone belongs to a house. Students, teaching and support staff. You can identify what house people belong to by the students ties and staff lanyards.
The whole community is proud of our houses and the house names, logos and song, which were suggested and voted by students.
Students are allocated to a house when they are taken on roll. Siblings will always be in the same house but not in the same mentoring group.
Each house is unique and has its own ethos. Each house has its own Student Leadership team that help the Head of House decide the House’s priorities and make important decisions for the student body.
Named after the old boys school that used to sit on the school site. The students in this house are very competitive and live by the “ROD way.” They have their own inimical way of competing and are led by Mr Gilpin.
Named after the manor on the middle of Mangotsfield village . The students in this house are “chasing victory” and have been the winners of the first three term’s competitions. You will always see Yellow ties out in front, with their Head of House, Mr John.
Named after the common that borders the school. The green ties match the colour of abundant scenery surrounding the school. Mr Bently leads the house with a controlled intensity and leaves you with a feeling that his house will always give you more .
Named after the area of land that the school reclaimed after the building of the ring road. Pomphreans take “pride in their participation” and are always guaranteed to have the most number of blue ties taking part. Miss Vincent and Mr Hinkley leads from the front and provides the competitive edge.
