Wide Curriculum
As part of the Kingswood Partnership, we offer an “extremely wide curriculum” with an “unusually broad range of options” (OFSTED 2009). The arrangements across this partnership were recognised as a main strength when OFSTED visited in 2009.
Many Good Features
During the last school OFSTED visit the sixth form was described as having “many good features, with a strongly inclusive ethos and high retention rates”. In the same report it was stated that “Students enjoy their sixth form experiences and make many positive contributions to school life” and achievement in the sixth form was “good for many students because of the good help they receive from their teachers and the support structures”
Social Lives
Due to the partnership the social lives of the students revolve around six different institutions giving the students an increased social group alongside a home school community with a strong emphasis on the role of the tutor.

What do people say:
Students:
“Mangotsfield Sixth Form was definitely the best choice for me. The teachers are very supportive and being able to do lessons at other schools meant I could do all the subjects I wanted to do. It’s not all about the lessons though; we also have lots of fun too!”
Louise Bird – Head of Sixth Form:
“We pride ourselves on the help we give our students; they are given individual mentoring and are given lots of help with job and university applications. High retention rates show how much the students like it here and how much support we give them.”
Alongside the structured curriculum and tutor programme Mangotsfield also offers:
Bespoke mentoring for OXBRIDGE candidates
Personal Development Curriculum – e.g. study skills, help with applications.
Sports activities
Social committee to organise events.
