Community Breakfast

What is the Community Breakfast?

The catchment area for our school embraces some of the most disadvantaged areas in South Gloucestershire. One in four of our students receives Free School Meals. Despite securing a “Good” Ofsted rating, stabilising the school and improving the results, the gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged students has continued. This has sparked a deep commitment to engage with our community leaders, as a vital resource for change.

We know that school is only part of a student’s life and that together we must address the broader contextual challenges our students face so that they can achieve their full potential.

We have worked to bring together representatives from local government, healthcare, education and civic organisations to identify shared priorities within our community and develop solutions together. Our philosophy is simple: when we get the right people in a room - transformation can begin. 

We know that working together with the wider community weill help to bring about positive change will not be straightforward but it is essential that we coordinate action: together.
